Find your way around.
A quick guide to the board, its labels, and the details to check before applying.
Find and keep opportunities
Search and filters
Search for words in listing titles, organizations, locations, or details. Use filters for age, location, opportunity type, pay or cost, and application stage. The count shows all matches; the board displays ten at a time. Select “Show 10 more opportunities” to continue. You can also sort by North County first, deadline, or most recently reviewed.
Save and share
Select Save on a listing to keep it in this browser, then use Saved to see your shortlist. Select Share to copy a direct link to a listing. A saved list is tied to your browser, not an account.
How listings are reviewed
Student Signal selects opportunities relevant to San Diego high school students, checks the organization’s source, and summarizes eligibility, cost, and timing. Listings are reviewed when added and checked again over time; each card shows its last reviewed date. There is no fixed review schedule, so confirm current details on the linked official page before applying.
What the status labels mean
- Open now
- A recent source showed an open application or registration. Confirm it is still available.
- Opening soon
- The organizer announced a future opening date.
- Program pages
- An official program or job board page without a confirmed current opening.
- Check availability
- An earlier opening needs a fresh check before making plans.
- Plan ahead
- A program to watch for its next application cycle.
- Past deadlines
- The recorded deadline has passed; the listing remains for reference.
Corrections and new listings
Open “Details & requirements” on a listing and select “Report a correction” to bring its information into the existing review form. Organizations and community members can use the same form to suggest an opportunity. Submissions are reviewed before anything changes on the board.
